Fort Siloso- Get a Glimpse into Late 19th Century
Built in the late 19th century, Fort Siloso stands strong as an indigenous historical site. Due to the overwhelming growth of Singapore as a trading port of the British, arrangements were made to protect the country from sea invasion. During World War II Japanese troops, however, entered the nation from north Malaya by land. The British army turned Fort Siloso guns towards the mainland rather than saving the lives of the forces defending the country against invasion.
Fort Siloso Skywalk
Fort Siloso Skywalk at Singapore Sentosa Island is 181 meters long walk at a 11-storey high scenic trek. The guides and instructors are available at the site to give more detailed information of the 19th century and country’s other important historical events.
